I am a Phillips NINO 301 Hand held user.
I have a problem activating ActiveSync and synchronizing when "Enable
Winsock client" in the "Microsoft WinSock Proxy Client" control panel
applet is enabled.=20
When it is disabled and the machine re-booted, I can
Sync. As you understand this is a considerable inconvinece as I have to =
re-boot the
machine each time I have to sync, otherwise I can't access the internet
through the proxy!!!.
The following help was suggested by Phillips but it did no good.
QUOTE
"If you are using the Microsoft Proxy server and the Winsock proxy, you =
may
need to create a local address table for your connection to your PC
Companion. This is done by creating a text file in the \mspclnt =
directory
called locallat.txt. You need to enter the following into the file
192.168.55.100 192.168.55.101 Once this is saved, you can then use
ActiveSync."=20
192.168.55.100 is the IP address that your Nino uses. My understanding =
is
that a proxy server prevents the device from establishing a connection =
with
the desktop partner because the proxy server will not relinquish control =
of
the required IP address. Creating this file should cause the proxy =
server
to release the IP address that the Nino uses, allowing the Nino to
establish a connection. Please be advised that as I do not have access =
to
a proxy server, I have not personally tested this resolution. I cannot
make any guarantees that this will resolve your issue.
END QUOTE.
This didn't work. Does this problem exist for all handhelds? Could =
anyone help me?=20
Thanks.
Dharshana.
