If you are already looking at a reformat, try the following first:

1) Remove CE Services through Add/Remove programs.
2) Cold Reboot
3) Install Service pack 3
4) Cold Reboot
5) Install CE Services
6) Cold Reboot
7) Re-Install Service Pack 3
8) Cold Reboot
9) Reinstall CE Services
10) Cold Reboot
11) Try syncing.

I have not tried Service Pack 4 on my NT servers or workstations. Has
anyone out there done so with any luck? Any problems - especially with CE?
