I'm afraid the default explorer view setting does not seem to be kept in
the registry and I cant find reference to it anywhere else, this is
exactly the reason why we should try and gather a definative list of
keys that can be changed.

In hpc's it seems the only Explorer reg keys are;

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\Explorer]
"ViewAll"=dword:00000001
"ShowExt"=dword:00000001

to enable viewing all file types and show extensions.

On W95 pc there is;

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Ex
pView]
"Settings"=hex:40,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,ff,ff,ff,ff,ff,ff,ff,
ff,fc,\

ff,ff,ff,fc,ff,ff,ff,0c,00,00,00,1f,00,00,00,90,02,00,00,d8,01,00,00,04,
00,\
00,00,00,00,00,00,2d,01,00,00,00,00,00,00,8f,41,59,81

to enable details view in windows 'Explore' two-pane view, I suspect
adding this key to hpc's will not work as hpc have a cut down Explorer
that do not have a two-pane ability.

For an example of a great Win95 reg tweak site take a look at
