What specific problems are you having? Are you using NT or 95? Emulation only works under NT. I'm currently having a difficult getting a basic WinCE MFC app to work in the emulation environment of Visual C++ 5.0. I've tried linking the standard Lib files, and changing various environment variables, but still no joy. Any assistance would be appreciated. Are you using MFC in these apps? Specifically statically linking? If so, it may be possible that for some reason when you create the 1.0 build it's not statically linking in MFC, causing the error you speak of. -john John Psuik Developer One, Inc. john@developerone.com http://www.developerone.com AutoGraph for Windows CE. I'm certainly using MFC, but it's supposed to be dynamically linked. However, stranger things have happened -- so I'll go check. Thanks fo...Read More

Hi, Now that I've gone WinCE v2, I find I'm still having to create v1 applications. However, every time I send my Windows CEv1 version files to people I'm told they refuse to work with an error "not a valid Windows CE application.". Am I missing something? I select the HP/C Ver 1 from the VC++ menu, is there something else I have to do? I don't have another v1 HPC I can test stuff on,...Read More

Hi everybody, I've somehow been away from the WindowsCE community for the last months for various reasons including working on the graphics of Scott Ludwig's PocketChess for both WindowsCE HPC/PPC and Epoc32 (with Fred Bouvry working on the port) and having fun programming my PsionS5 with OPL. I seem to be running into a "Chicken and Egg" problem trying to debug a RAS app on a P/PC: Originally I had two serial ports in the P/PC, a CF+ serial card for sync/debug and the built-in port for the modem used by the RAS connection. That didn't work because CE refused to have 2 simultaneous RAS sessions (one for sync and one for my app). I swapped the CF+ serial card out for a CF+ Ether...Read More

Does anyone have any experience with internationalization of CE apps? I have tried a few preliminary experiments and am not having much success so far. Here's what I've done: Using the Visual C++ Resource Editor, I created "French" copies of the string table and of one dialog. For testing purposes, I changed only a single string in the string table and in the dialog, enough to show me whet...Read More

I'm trying to get a Fast IrDA (4Mbit/sec) connection going between my CE 2.1 embedded target and a Win 98 PC. The PC has known good Fast IrDA hardware and software. The CE target has Fast IrDA hardware and the vendor has provided an NDIS miniport driver that supports the Fast IrDA hardware. Since I'm running a MINCOMM variant, the CE target does not have a GUI. Therefore, I can't use any ...Read More
