David, We eventually shelled out some cash to MS support to get an answer on this. Here's the reponse: It is a Windows CE limitation that the it does not recognize multiple language versions of the resource in one executable. For example, APIs that support multiple language versions of the resource, such as EnumResourceLanguage, are not supported on Windows CE. To make a multilin...Read More

Back on the subject of title bars, I include the window caption on my control panel dialog-based app, but I fill the area above the taskbar and set WS_EX_NODRAG to lock the dialog in place on the screen. For my app which is not dialog-based, I come up full-screen with a menu/toolbar command bar and no window caption. I think this adheres to the style quidelines, though I ignore the guidelin...Read More

I was startled when I first discovered that dialog boxes under CE can be moved around; generally not exected behavior with a full-screen app, especially on a PsPC. So, thank you for mentioning WS_EX_NODRAG - it works very nicely. (I generally try to give users as much control as possible, so WS_EX_NODRAG is generally not a style I would like. But I think it's appropriate for a full-screen ...Read More

Make sure the VB runtime support is included in your project. Look under the catalog on the right hand side under Runtimes. There is a folder for VB. Add it to your project and rebuild. That's what I do for VC and it works every time. I want to run some VB apps for a demonstration we have coming up. Unfortunately, the development board and its BSP do not yet have a spare serial port through which to connect debugging services of Visual Studio, and there is not enough time to get that running. Does anyone know exactly what VB runtime files would need to go into the CESH directory, how the registry must be initialized...Read More

Greg and company, I took your advice and included all VB components from the catalog within the PB 2.12 IDE to my MAXALL project, following the instructions in the PB help file. I successfully built MAXALL and downloaded to the device's RAM. To verify my CESH connection works, I ran a C demo program I have. Hmm... an interesting idea but you must ask yourself... "why"? Lets see.. well if we make mac support all we'd do is double the available amount of apps. With the two combined, who knows... we might even breach 20 apps!!! (Yeah i'm bitter.. all you ppc programmers, program harder! We need more apps!) :)
