Apologies in advance if this is not the right forum. I am in need of a contractor to build a couple of simple apps for the Philips Nino. This job has both a short term aspect (building prototypes of the apps) as well as medium to long term aspects (build and evolve the apps as we evolve our platform). Please contact me if you have availability over the next two weeks. Regards, Bill ...Read More

Yes I have a beta copy of Techbridge/River-Runs Mobile Apps. This software is a joint venture of two companies. Microsoft was in part the one who brought the two together. The program consists of two parts. The first is a GUI builder that's a large app wizard that walks you through the process of building simple form type apps. You can link data from a group of tables as well as using qu...Read More

There are PLENTY of DOS apps that are still used. I have already thought of a couple that I will use as soon as XTCE is finished. For example, there is a Windows 95 version of the APRS (GPS tracking) software but there is no CE version. Instead, I will try to use the DOS version on XTCE. I also have a few Clipper apps I have written that I have no Windows equivalent for. Maybe you only u...Read More

Beyond an extremely simple application this is not true. The memory that MFC allocates must also be taken into account. Actually wrote a framework that emulates ATL windows classes, and with that I was able to write a fully functioning application in 50k, the equivalent I wrote in MFC was over 150k, and it used more dynamic memory. In a larger application I would expect that to be even ...Read More
